The London Canal Museum has opened bookings for its 2026 boat-trip season, with a packed programme of cruises running from now until the end of October.
The first public sailings coincided with Mother’s Day and marked what the museum described as its most varied summer schedule yet.
Long Tom runs in partnership with the Angel Community Canal Boat Trust.
Trips will once again take place aboard Long Tom, the museum’s purpose-built sightseeing boat, offering passengers large opening windows, table seating, and complimentary tea or coffee. A guide accompanies all cruises longer than half an hour, providing historical commentary on the capital’s waterways.

Among the headline offerings is the ever-popular Islington Tunnel trip, a 50-minute return journey through the 960-yard tunnel engineered by James Morgan and opened in 1820. Longer excursions to Little Venice and Victoria Park also return, each departing at 11.15am on alternate Fridays and taking around two hours in each direction.
The museum has also confirmed the return of its Cream Tea Cruises, running every Thursday afternoon and on selected Wednesdays. These 90-minute sailings include a traditional scone with clotted cream and jam, served as the boat glides through City Road Lock before looping back to King’s Cross.
For those seeking a deeper dive into the canal network, the Camden Locks Explorer will operate on selected Wednesdays, offering a three-hour round trip through four locks west of Camden. Historic boat cruises will also run on alternate Wednesdays.

This year’s programme also includes dedicated Family Fun Days, each offering pre-bookable short trips suitable for children.
All boat trip tickets include museum admission. Prices range from £17.50 for adults on the tunnel trip to £33 for long journeys, with concessions available. Long Tom is fully enclosed but is not wheelchair accessible; however, the museum encourages visitors with access needs to get in touch ahead of their trip.
